Showcased for the first time at IBC2002, Pilat Media
will be demonstrating Live Playout Preview,
a major new enhancement to its Integrated Broadcast
Management System (IBMS). This new feature allows
presentation schedulers working with promotions, commercials,
and other interstitial material in IBMS to preview
actual content on their PC, solving the problem of
identifying the right promotional content or version
from a text description. In addition, by displaying
transitions and DVE's, it helps presentation schedulers
optimise the look and feel of junctions.

"National Geographic Channels International (NGCI)
has experienced tremendous growth since its launch
in September 1997, and the ability for our international
offices to access and share a single system of data
management is vital to a streamlined operation. IBMS
will help us to improve efficiencies with programme
inventory and related financial processes, as well
as offer the flexibility that a fast-growing business
like ours demands", said Nick Wilkinson, Vice
President, Network Development, NGCI.
|
|
NGCIs
selection of IBMS reflects the success of over 20 other
Pilat Media clients already using IBMS as a centralised
operational solution, including BSkyB (UK), UPCtv (Europe),
Network Ten (Australia), and Fox Kids (Europe). IBMS
will be used to manage and centralise NGCIs programme
inventory and associated financial data throughout operations
in its 21 regional offices worldwide.

"Pilat has created a unique software system geared
towards the often complex operational needs of a global
company like Discovery. With IBMS we will be able
to create one integrated system capable of managing
content and advertising sales for all of our international
operations", said Vivian Lugo, Vice President
of International Systems, Discovery Communications,
Inc.
|
|
Discovery
is the second major client to adopt the enhanced version
of IBMS, which in addition to content and channel management
functions, also includes Pilat Medias new advertising
sales system. The system will be hosted in a single
location allowing over 400 Discovery International users
to access the system wherever they are located in the
world.
