Pilat Media announces new contract wins in Europe and the Pacific

Press Release: 14 July 2003

London, 14 July 2003 - Pilat Media Global plc, the London-based AIM-listed supplier of business management software to broadcasters around the world, today announces that contracts have been signed to supply three new clients with its Integrated Broadcast Management System (IBMS).

The three broadcasters - TV3 of New Zealand, FOXTEL of Australia and LA7 of Italy - and the two other recently signed up clients - Pro Plus of Slovenia (part of the CME media group) and TV Cabo of Portugal - are expected to contribute approximately £1.5 million in upfront licence and implementation fees in the months ahead, along with additional recurring maintenance fees which will follow after installation.

These clients represent the smaller size, but faster implementation projects that Pilat Media has been undertaking alongside some other much larger and longer projects with clients including Discovery International, Network Ten and Playboy TV. With these new clients, Pilat Media's clientele is now 27 broadcasters spread around the world, including free-to-air and Pay TV, analogue and digital, large and small.

TV3 (part of the Canadian CanWest group) and FOXTEL (a News Corp company) increase Pilat Media's presence in the Pacific region to eight clients. TV3 will utilise the system to streamline and integrate its programme content, advertising sales and traffic management operations. FOXTEL is Australia's leading subscription television provider, servicing around one million homes via satellite and cable. FOXTEL plans to use the IBMS system to handle the forthcoming launch of their on-demand services. LA7, the Rome-based national terrestrial broadcaster owned by Telecom Italia, intends to utilise the content management modules of IBMS, and the implementation is managed by Accenture.

Avi Engel, Chief Executive Officer of Pilat Media Global plc, said: "These contract wins are significant for the Company as they increase our presence in key markets. We have now become a market leader in New Zealand and Australia. IBMS is both comprehensive and flexible for meeting a wide spectrum of different needs, for various broadcasters in many parts of the world"

Notes to editors:

Pilat Media is a UK company, currently 150 strong, operating from headquarters in London and offices in the USA, Australia and Israel.

Pilat Media's IBMS (Integrated Broadcast Management System) is a new generation software system for managing the business of broadcasting. It is the world's most comprehensive solution, designed to maximize revenues and reduce costs by integrating airtime sales, content programming and media trafficking across an unlimited number of different channels or stations, regions or even countries, all under a single centralized, scalable and digital ready system. Al these have been historically serviced by several, typically dispersed systems. IBMS' functional breadth, depth and flexibility to suit all types of broadcasters are unrivalled, making it the first truly global system of its kind.

IBMS' first version was originally developed by Pilat for BSkyB, to support their fast growing multi-channel programming needs. Pilat Media was established in 1999 to further develop and market the system as a generic product. IBMS's scope was subsequently more than doubled by adding the advertising sales functionality in partnership with Network Ten of Australia. Since then Pilat Media has rapidly established itself as a rising force in the market for business management software for broadcasters. Today, Pilat Media's software solutions have been selected by 35 broadcasters in Europe, North America and Australasia, representing a wide spectrum of business models, organizational size and transmission technologies - digital and analogue, on terrestrial, cable and satellite platforms. Additional clients include CTV (Canada), Discovery (International), five (UK), TV New Zealand, Playboy (US), Sky Italia and TV4 (Sweden).
