System Design

Pilat Media's new technical solutions and functional enhancements are researched, prototyped and designed by Bob Lamb, Chief Technology Officer and Geoff Hutton, Chief Functional Architect. Our chief architects are also involved in pre-sales analysis work, internal and external problem solving and path finding. Between them, Bob and Geoff, offer over 40 years of IT experience and a wealth of technical broadcasting and business expertise.

Bob Lamb Chief Technology Officer
Bob graduated (1st class) as a materials engineer winning the prize for the most outstanding graduate. He worked within consultancy and education before joining BSkyB in 1988. He was responsible for the development and design of BSkyBs original SMS system leading a small team. He then moved to Magic for a short time before joining Pilat in 1992. He has been involved in most of Pilats major IT projects in the last 10 years. He managed the team that produced IBMS as well as contributing to the design and development of the application code itself. Bob has more that 15 years experience within RDBMSs and application design and development.

Geoff Hutton Chief Functional Architect
Formally educated via an HND in Computer Studies and more recently an MSc course in Human Computer Systems, Geoff has worked within IT since leaving college. Geoff has worked principally for software houses designing and developing a number of applications covering a wide range of business areas from Human Resources to Financial systems and Production Control. Geoff architected and designed MediaMachine, the channel management system acquired by Pilat through it's acquisition of Rebus Media Solutions, designing this from scratch to cover acquisition, planning, traffic and media management. Overall Geoff has over 25 years of experience of IT covering RDBMS, application and user interface design and software product development, as well as technical skills in a variety of environments including VB and Delphi.
